The discipline: a corrected entry receives the status REVISED in a new vintage, with the superseded figure struck through beside the corrected figure and a note saying what changed and why. Both states remain fetchable forever through the vintage chain. The chain of sha256_of_previous makes any silent revision detectable by any third party holding an earlier file.
